Annual Evaluation Plan

Each fiscal year, JMD requests that EOIR propose program or process evaluations for its approval. The approved EOIR FY 2023 Evaluation is titled: Evaluating Remote Adjudication and Pending Case Resolutions. For this evaluation, EOIR’s Planning, Analysis, and Statistics Division is assessing the effectiveness of remote adjudication for completing or resolving active pending cases.

Effectiveness is defined in this context as (a) an increase in active pending caseload completion and resolution rates and (b) a decreased cost of adjudicating active pending cases. Case completions include all initial case completions and subsequent case completions.
