Language Access Procedures

B - Administrative Proceedings

The Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO) provides appropriate language assistance in all cases before OCAHO. Upon learning or ascertaining that an individual with LEP is appearing in an OCAHO proceeding, OCAHO staff will arrange for an interpreter for subsequent prehearing conferences and hearings at which the individual is expected to attend. Furthermore, on a case-by-case basis, OCAHO may translate orders and other communications issued by OCAHO into the language a party with LEP best understands.
