Outstanding Achievement Award. On June 8, Scott Stermer, OFDT's Assistant Trustee for Procurement, was recognized with an Outstanding Achievement Award for his support of the Department's Small Business Program. The award was presented to Mr. Stermer by Michael H. Allen, Acting Federal Detention Trustee, on behalf of Lee Lofthus, Assistant Attorney General for Administration.
Award for Excellence in Information Technology. On October 28, the Attorney General recognized OFDT and its Facility Review Management System (FRMS) with the Award for Excellence in Information Technology. OFDT developed FRMS to facilitate, standardize, record and report the results of Quality Assurance Reviews performed on private contracts and high-volume Intergovernmental Agreement facilities. Recognized OFDT staff members include Claudia Hill, Shannon Brown, Theo Anderson, Brian Coady, James Morgan and Mike Thomas.
Outstanding Achievement Award. On June 5, Scott Stermer, Assistant Trustee for Procurement, accepted from Lee Lofthus, Assistant Attorney General for Administration, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Outstanding Achievement Award on behalf of OFDT for “exceeding the Department’s Goal for the Utilization of Small and Women-owned Small Businesses as Subcontractors during FY 2007.” OFDT staff members who made this award possible include Scott Stermer, Connie Bare (OFDT’s Small Business Representative in FY 2007), Tony Bigesby, Debbie Johnson and Mike Moran, all Contracting Officers as well as Janet Morris, who also has played an integral part in finding and selecting small and women-owned small businesses when making purchasing decisions for OFDT.
2007 Presidential Rank Award. On September 28, the Office of Personnel Management recognized Stacia Hylton as a recipient of the 2007 Presidential Rank Award. This award is given to a very select group of career civil service employees each year and is conferred by the President of the United States. Ms. Hylton received her award from the Attorney General on August 27, 2008.
Overall Best KPMG Audit Site Visit/Most Improved from Mock Audit to KPMG Audit. On December 7, KPMG recognized OFDT’s financial management business practices with two awards for Fiscal Year 2006: Overall Best KPMG Audit Site Visit and Most Improved from Mock Audit to KPMG Audit.
Award for Excellence in Information Technology. On August 31, the Attorney General recognized David Musel with the Award of Excellence in Information Technology. Mr. Musel was the team leader for eDesignate which played a key role in the implementation of the Arizona Sentence to Commitment Pilot Project.
