A Louisiana man was sentenced to 41 months in prison today for his part in a conspiracy to sponsor, exhibit, possess and transport animals in an interstate animal fighting venture, and to possessing an animal in such a venture, all in violation of the Animal Welfare Act.

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that U.S. District Judge John W. deGravelles sentenced Norman Antoine LeBlanc, age 34, of Morganza, Louisiana, to 210 months in federal prison following his conviction for production and attempted production of child pornography. 

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson sentenced Tiera R. Lands, age 31, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 48 months in federal prison following her convictions for wire fraud and money laundering in connection with numerous false and fraudulent applications that she filed to obtain funds from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program in 2020 and 2021. 

A federal grand jury in Baton Rouge returned an indictment today charging a Louisiana man for his role in a scheme to defraud Medicare and Medicaid of over $148 million in medically unnecessary definitive urine drug testing services.   

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson sentenced Floyd C. Hose, Jr., age 38, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 70 months in federal prison following his conviction for bank robbery. 

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson sentenced Hakeem Allen, age 28, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 160 months in federal prison following his convictions for distribution and possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, heroin, clonazepam, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that U.S. Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick sentenced Mandy Nicole Miller, age 44, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to 10 months in federal prison following her conviction for federal program theft.

United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that Mitchell Robinson, Jr., age 33, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, pled guilty before U.S. Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, 40 grams or more of fentanyl, heroin, and  tramadol, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
