On February 21, a Program Officer from ICITAP’s Engaging Multinational Policewomen on Equality and Rights (EMPoWER) visited the High Command of the National Gendarmerie to discuss efforts to integrate female officers into surveillance and investigations units.
On February 15, the ICITAP-Bangladesh mission provided an update on its assistance efforts to counter trafficking in persons (TIP). At the end of January 2023, members of ICITAP’s TIP team visited several police stations in and around Cox’s Bazar to assess local law enforcement’s efforts in responding to the safety and security needs of the Rohingya refugee camps and their surrounding communities.
On February 8, ICITAP’s Engaging Multinational Policewomen on Equality and Rights (EMPoWER) program, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA) Program, hosted a working group session with law enforcement officers from diverse agencies driving counterterrorism efforts in Kenya.
