Chapter 15 - Short Matters Docket

Short matters dockets are a useful tool for efficiently and expeditiously adjudicating certain types of matters. These dockets provide a mechanism for parties to request that cases be advanced to an earlier date, which in turn frees up future docket space. Considering the benefits of short matters dockets described above, all courts handling non-detained cases provide parties an opportunity to request placement on short matters dockets. Parties seeking to advance cases may do so by filing a motion to be placed on these dockets. As with all filings, such motions must comply with the requirements set forth in the Immigration Court Practice Manual.
