Victims Compensation

Attachment 1:
My name is           . My son was a victim of the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th.

was single and had no dependents.

I think you will see many victims of this class as you review these cases. This class of victim should not be overlooked or penalized when it come to compensation. This group had their chance for having families ripped from them by this horrible act.

How do you measure their worth or their suffering. How do you measure what they would have done to support their parents as the parents age? Who will perform that duty now?

The fact that a group life policy was paid or that proceeds from a 401k are going to the decedents estate are meaningless. A 401k was meant for retirement benefits, a smart move even for a young person. At 30 years old, the proceeds from a 401k are miniscule. An employer provided group policy is also miniscule and should not be deducted from any compensation.

None of us want this money, we would rather have our sons, daughters, husbands and wives back. The survivors have to live with this pain for the rest of our lives and still have to go on to raise our other children and care for our husbands and wives. Do not add to the burden of our grief.

Thanks.
