Equal treatment for 9/11 compensation

In formulating the rules that will govern the September 11 Victim
Compensation Fund, I would urge you to ensure that those who lost their life
partners or de facto parents or children, regardless of sexual orientation
or marital status are included in the category of relatives deserving of
compensation.
Please do not make this tragedy a further reemphasis of the inequalities
those in same sex relationships must face regarding their long-term,
committed relationships.
