Todd Blanche
The Honorable Todd Blanche is the 88th Attorney General of the United States.
Attorney General Blanche began his career at the Department of Justice, where he served for nearly fifteen years. He started as an intern in the Criminal Division and later served as a paralegal in the Criminal Division and in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, attending Brooklyn Law School at night. He later returned to that office as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and a supervisor, including as co-chief of the Violent Crimes Unit and the White Plains Division.
After leaving the Department, he practiced as a defense attorney in New York for over ten years. His practice included the representation of President Donald J. Trump in three criminal cases brought in 2023 and 2024.
Following President Trump’s return to office, Attorney General Blanche was sworn in as the 40th Deputy Attorney General on March 6, 2025. He later served as Acting Attorney General and, on August 10, 2026, was sworn in as Attorney General.
As Attorney General, he is directing the Department’s enforcement priorities: confronting illegal immigration, dismantling transnational drug organizations, combating violent crime, and protecting American taxpayers from fraud.
He has been married to his wife, Kristine, for over three decades. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.
