Our civil rights program often receives inquires about Civil Rights-Related Employment matters. Subject to two very narrow exceptions, we cannot evaluate your claim or assist you – we either lack the jurisdiction and/or are not your correct contact point. These two laws are the USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act) and the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Unless your issue involve these two statutes, in all other civil-rights related employment matters, we suggest that you contact the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) or the SCHAC (South Carolina Human Affairs Commission; see contact information below.
