Heroin/Opioid Panel Discussion

As part of our ongoing commitment to eradicate the illegal use of drugs; the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia, along with the FBI, DEA, and the Heroin Working Group hosted a community forum Saturday, August 27, 2016. This forum featured a screening of "Chasing the Dragon," a short film documentary produced by the FBI and DEA. The film chronicles how drug abuse devastates lives, and it draws attention to the prescription drug and heroin epidemics in the United States. Following the film, a moderated panel discussion was held with the U.S. Attorney, DEA Special Agent in Charge, and representatives from the treatment, law enforcement, prevention, and medical fields, as well as a former addict who shares her journey to recovery.
