United States Attorney’s Office Available to Receive Allegations of Interference with Our Elections and Campaigns

For Immediate Release
U.S. Attorney's Office, Middle District of Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG - The Department of Justice plays an important role in deterring and combating those who would interfere with our elections. This includes protection from paid operatives coming into our district to disrupt campaigns, to make threats of violence, and to otherwise disrupt our electoral process.

If you have any information regarding interference with our campaigns and elections, or with any citizen’s right to vote, please call our hotline numbers at:

  • Harrisburg - 717-614-4246
  • Scranton - 570-207-2856
  • Williamsport - 570-326-2054.

Complaints about possible violations of the federal voting rights laws can also be made directly to the Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC by phone at 800-253-3931 or by complaint form at https://civilrights.justice.gov/.

In the case of a crime of violence or intimidation, please call 911 immediately and before contacting federal authorities. State and local police have primary jurisdiction over polling places, and almost always have faster reaction capacity in an emergency.

The Department of Justice seeks to ensure public confidence in the electoral process.
