Servicemembers and Veterans Working Group
The Servicemembers and Veterans Working Group was originated in 2024 in furtherance of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida’s commitment to serving the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country and their families. The Working Group includes members from multiple branches of the federal and state military, federal and state agencies, legal aid organizations from across the District, TAPS, the University of Florida, and more to focus on the legal needs of Servicemembers, Veterans, and Military Survivors in the areas of Housing, Employment, Consumer Protection, Disability Rights, Financial Assistance, Mental Health, and Yellow Ribbon (outreach and training). It aims to assist in the coordination of various resources within the District, throughout the state, and at the federal level to mitigate any impediments or delays to essential services, programs, and relief to our servicemembers and their families and to expedite resource in the most efficient manner possible.
As part of this effort, the Working Group has put together the Servicemembers and Veterans Working Group Manual to collect valuable legal information and resources in a centralized location. Please click the link below to navigate the Manual. Please be advised that the Manual is intended to be used as an informational resource and that nothing contained within the Manual shall be construed as an endorsement by, or as a formal policy or legal statement of, any Working Group participant.
