Chase Petty - Concordia University School of Law

  I had a great experience being able to extern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and I am very grateful for the opportunity that I was given. My supervisor was very knowledgeable, and he took the time to teach me when I had questions. My research and writing skills have improved immensely and being able to observe and even take part in the Federal Court system was an opportunity that I know a lot of others are not able to get in law school. There are also brown bag sessions about interesting topics that different AUSA’s have handled during their careers along with a writing class that occurs every week. Everyone at the office was very nice and would make an effort to ensure your continued success throughout the externship. I could definitely see myself striving for a position with the U.S. Attorney’s Office someday in the future.
