Platinum Partners’ Founder & CIO among 5 Indicted in a $1 Billion Investment Fraud 

United States Attorney Robert L. Capers, William F. Sweeney, Jr., Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office; Tom Boyle, Assistant Postal Inspector-in-Charge, United States Postal Inspection Service, New York Division (USPIS); and Andrew Ceresney, Director of Enforcement, Securities and Exchange Commission, announced the unsealing of an indictment charging Mark Nordlicht, the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Platinum Partners, a New York-based hedge fund, and six other individuals, including David Levy, the co-Chief Investment Officer, and Uri Landesman, the former President of Platinum’s signature fund, with counts of securities fraud, investment adviser fraud and conspiracy in an approximately $1 billion fraud.
