One Detroit - Peace Pledge

I know that I have value—to myself, to my family, to my friends, and to my community. And because I am important, because my friends and neighbors are important, because I care, and because I believe in the future of our streets, neighborhoods, and community, I commit to choosing peace over violence. Therefore:

• I agree to be a leader in my community through my actions.
• I will partner with those committed to improving the quality of life of all Detroiters.
• I will seek to find peaceful solutions to problems.
• I promise not to use a gun and to actively encourage others to not use a gun.

I make this pledge because I believe that everyone deserves to live in a community free of violence.
