New Orleans Woman Sentenced to 35 Months for Bank Robbery

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – United States Attorney Duane A. Evans announced today that CATHY LYNN HAMILTON was sentenced on November 15, 2023, after previously pleading guilty to bank robbery, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a).

According to court records, on May 5, 2023, HAMILTON entered a JP Morgan Chase Bank, in New Orleans, and committed bank robbery.

United States District Judge Sarah S. Vance sentenced HAMILTON to 35 months of imprisonment to be followed by a 3-year term of supervised release.  HAMILTON must also pay a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.

The case was investigated by the  Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy L. Bell of the General Crimes Unit was in charge of the prosecution.
