Overview

On August 14, 2024, the United States filed a Fair Housing Act “election” complaint in United States v. Grapevine Housing Authority (N.D. Tex.). The complaint alleges that defendant discriminated against a tenant based on disability by denying requests for a reasonable accommodation, terminating his lease, and pursuing an eviction. The case was referred to the Division after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) received a complaint, conducted an investigation, and issued a charge of discrimination.
