Serbia: ICITAP Donation Ceremony of Renovated Academic Facility at University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies

On June 27, the ICITAP and U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL)-funded renovated academic wing at the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies (UCIPS) was officially opened. The renovation included classrooms, auditorium, practical exercise rooms, offices, library, common areas, and installation of state-of-the-art IT equipment. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Interior (MOI) as well as the Ambassador of the United States in Serbia. Also in attendance were the Minister of Education, state secretaries, representatives from the president’s cabinet, as well as other high-level officials from the MOI. The renovated facility will be used by the UCIPS, the MOI, and other state entities. By virtue of a Memorandum of Understanding, ICITAP and INL will also have unrestricted use of the facility. Both the Minister and the Ambassador emphasized the importance of ICITAP-INL assistance in Serbia, as well as the partnership that has been established between the UCIPS and the MOI. Upon the ceremony’s conclusion, the Ambassador and UCIPS Rector signed a donation agreement. The event was broadcasted on local Serbian news. In Serbia, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with INL.
