Kosovo: ICITAP Meets with Ministry of Justice Officials to Advance Corrections Capacity

On June 30, the ICITAP Corrections team met with senior political advisors of the Ministry of Justice assigned for the Kosovo Corrections Service (KCS) and the Kosovo Probation Service. The topic of this meeting was discussion about the new leadership changes within the KCS and specifically requesting the ICITAP team to support the identification and selection process for the future director of the Corrections Intelligence Unit (CIU). The MOJ’s plan is to conduct this selection via public announcement, which will be open to everyone who feels they meet the application criteria. At this meeting, the MOJ staff again expressed their gratitude for ICITAP’s to support KCS capacity building and the contribution provided in writing the draft-law section on the CIU. In Kosovo, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.
