ICITAP Facilitates Exchange of Good Practices on Leadership and Innovation with Forensic Counterparts from Western Hemisphere

From August 22 to 26, ICITAP supported the participation of 26 participants from ICITAP missions in Mexico, Central America, and Colombia as well as three from the headquarter staff at the 2021 American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) annual symposium in Boston.  ASCLD is a nonprofit professional society of crime laboratory directors and forensic science managers dedicated to providing excellence in forensic science through leadership and innovation. The 2021 symposium included senior leaders from most forensics laboratories in the United States, as well as several other countries. Several areas of crime laboratory management, forensic science policy, and new technologies were discussed through presentations and exhibitor offerings. The symposium was a unique opportunity for forensic laboratory directors from the ICITAP programs to update their knowledge concerning the most recent advances, share ideas and experiences, and make contacts with their peers.
