Bangladesh: ICITAP Partners with Criminal Investigation Department Investigators to Develop New Police Instructors

On February 22, ICITAP-Bangladesh and Host National Instructors (HNI), trained by ICITAP, successfully concluded a seven-day Instructor Development Course (IDC) for Bangladesh Police (BP) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigators. ICITAP Advisors and the HNI cadre successfully provided instruction, practical exercises, and evaluations for future HNI selections. In total, 15 CID investigators completed this course, with nine students being identified for further instructional development. Additionally, in furtherance on our ongoing partnerships, representatives from Justice and Care, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT), and Winrock International observed select portions of this training event. This event served as Phase I within the Trafficking in Persons (TiP) program. Phase II, involving the development of newly selected police instructors within the TiP curricula, is scheduled to commence during the month of March 2022.
