Colombia: ICITAP Launches Event to Train Investigators to Identify Gender-Based Violence

On November 15, ICITAP-Colombia launched a violence against women and young girls campaign titled “ICITAP Entrena Investigadores Para Hacer Visible Lo Invisible” or “ICITAP Trains Investigators to Make the Invisible Visible.”  U.S. Embassy officials as well as Colombian leadership from the National Institute of Legal Medicine, the Attorney General’s Office, CTI (Technical Investigative Group), and the Director of the National Police of Colombia General, as well as approximately 50 investigators and forensic experts attended the event.  The event was also live streamed to 2,118 participants. In Colombia, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the U.S. Embassy.
