United States v. Thomas Romano – Court Docket Number 2:19-CR-00202

On September 20, 2023 defendant Thomas Romano was found guilty by a jury.

On May 2, 2024, defendant Romano was sentenced to 84 months imprisonment and 3 years supervised release. In addition, Romano is ordered to pay a $2,400 special assessment.

United States v. Freeda Flynn – Court Docket Number 2:19-CR-00208

 

On July 13, 2023, defendant Freeda Flynn pleaded guilty to 1 count of misbranding. 

On March 15, 2024, defendant Freeda Flynn was sentenced to 1 year of probation; $1,000.00 fine; $25.00 special assessment.

United States v. Henry Babenco, et al. – Court Docket Number 3:19-cr-00060

On July 7, 2023, defendant Gregory Madron entered a guilty plea.

A sentencing hearing for defendant Sharon Naylor is set for November 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Courtroom 4 before Judge Thomas A. Varlan.

Defendant Henry Babenco passed away on February 22, 2021.

On April 23, 2021, defendant Alicia Taylor pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

On April 5, 2022 defendant Steven Mynatt was sentenced to 3 years of probation, 100 hours of community service and $10,000 fine.

Middle District of Tennessee

United States v. Bowdoin G. Smith – Court Docket Number 2:19-cr-5

 

On July 26, 2023 a jury found defendant Smith guilty as to counts 7, 8, and 9 and not guilty as to the other counts.

United States v. Kathryn Nikole Russell – Court Docket Number: 2:19-cr-20078-TLP A hearing on the petition for revocation as to Kathryn Nikole Russell set for June 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM in Courtroom 2, Memphis before Judge Thomas L. Parker.

CASES WHERE DEFENDANTS HAVE BEEN SENTENCED

United States v. Scotty R. Akers, M.D. and Serissa L. Collier, a/k/a “Serissa L. Stamper” – Court Docket Number: 7:19-CR-00007-REW-EBA

On December 9, 2020, defendant Akers was sentenced to 50 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. On that same day, defendant Collier was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. 

United States v. Marshall Plotka, M.D. – Court Docket Number 5:19-cr-00233-AKK-SGC

On June 9, 2022 defendant Plotka was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day of imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. Defendant is to self-surrender no later than 2:00 PM on August 8, 2022.

United States v. George Griffin – Court Docket Number 1:19cr112

On March 1, 2021, Griffin was sentenced to three years and four months’ imprisonment, to be followed by three years’ supervised release.

A status conference has been set for September 5, 2023 at 10:30 AM by teleconference before Judge Michael R. Barrett.

United States v. Morris L. Brown et al – Court Docket Number 3:19-CR-00068

Defendant Brown sentenced to two years imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release and 100 hours community service

United States v. Samuel Mcgaha, M.D. – Court Docket Number 3:19-CR-00169

On June 28, 2021, defendant McGaha was sentenced to probation of 2 years to include 40 hours of community service work. This community service work is to include volunteering with local substance abuse treatment providers and medical educational facilities. McGaha was also ordered to pay a special assessment of $100 and a fine of $2,500.

United States v. Steven Mynatt, et al – Court Docket Number 3:19-cr-00059

On April 5, 2022 defendant Steven Mynatt was sentenced to 3 years of probation, 100 hours of community service and $10,000 fine.

United States v. Ricky L. Houdersheldt, D.O. – Court Docket Number: 3:19-00239

On January 8, 2021, defendant Houdersheldt was sentenced to 60 months’ probation and was fined $200,000.
