Sarah Harrington

Sarah Harrington has served as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Appellate since February 1, 2021.  Sarah has a long history as a career attorney in the Department of Justice.  She worked for nine years in the Appellate Section of the Civil Rights Division, where she argued dozens of cases in the federal courts of appeals.

Sarah also worked for eight years in the Office of the Solicitor General, followed by three years in private practice at a boutique Supreme Court litigation firm.  Sarah has argued 22 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has briefed dozens of other cases in that court.  Sarah is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale College.  She clerked on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for the Honorable Rosemary Barkett.
