Roundtable Information

The United States Department of Justice is hosting a recruiting event as a part of its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. The United States Trustee for New York, the United States Attorney for New York, and the Antitrust Division will have a conversation about the pathways to careers with the Department of Justice. Panelists will share what lead them to become DOJ employees, why it is a fulfilling and exciting place to work, and answer audience questions about careers with the Department.

Mayra Campos

Mayra Campos
U.S. Attorney’s Office Human Resources Officer

Mayra Campos was appointed Human Resources Officer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York in September 2020. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Campos served as a Human Resources Specialist on the SDNY team for 10 years where she specialized in staffing for several U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the northeast region. Ms. Campos began her federal career with the Office in 2005, as an undergraduate student as part of the Student Temporary Employment Program and upon graduation was converted to a Secretary for the Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney.

Ms. Campos earned her undergraduate degree from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

William K. Harrington

William K. Harrington
U.S. Trustee for Regions 1 and 2

William K. Harrington is the United States Trustee for Region 1 and Region 2. Mr. Harrington was appointed as the United States Trustee for Region 1 on November 8, 2010, and as the United States Trustee for Region 2 on November 26, 2013. Prior to his appointment as the United States Trustee for Region 1, Mr. Harrington was the Assistant United States Trustee for the District of Delaware. Prior to joining the Office of the United States Trustee, he practiced bankruptcy and reorganization law at Duane Morris LLP. Mr. Harrington is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court. Mr Harrington was the Petitioner before the Supreme Court in Harrington v. Purdue Pharma, L.P., No. 23-124, wherein the Supreme Court agreed with the United States Trustee that the Bankruptcy Code does not authorize nonconsensual, non-debtor releases. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.

Lillian Evans

Lillian Evans
Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York

Lillian Evans is the Executive Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In the role, Ms. Evans is charged with law student and lawyer hiring for the office, attorney professional development, and organizational development. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Evans worked at the NYC Law Department. She served as the Director of Legal Recruitment at the NYC Law Department from 2021-2024, Deputy Director of Legal Recruitment from 2013-2021, and as an Assistant Corporation Counsel from 2012-2013. Ms. Evans is an active member of the New York City Bar Association and the National Association for Law Placement (NALP). Ms. Evans is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the University of Michigan.

Aditi Mehta

Aditi Mehta
U.S. DOJ Antitrust Division Economics Director of Enforcement

Aditi Mehta is Economics Director of Enforcement at the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. Prior to this role, she was the Chief of the Economic Policy Section. At the Division, Aditi has worked on mergers and antitrust cases in a number of industries including in tech, telecom, health insurance, hospitals, airlines, software, and consumer products. Across these industries, she has managed several litigations. She received her PhD in Economics from Boston University in 2007. Her dissertation was competition in health care markets. She has also conducted research on patents and the airline industry.

Kaylyn Sanbower

Kaylyn Sanbower
U.S. DOJ Antitrust Division Economist

Kaylyn Sanbower joined the Division in 2022. Since, she has worked on a handful of industries, but most frequently, airlines and healthcare. She was a member of the JetBlue/Spirit litigation team. Kaylyn also serves as the supervisor for EAG’s RA program. She earned her PhD from Emory University in 2022, where her dissertation research explored the effect of information disclosure on hospital markets. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical finance and economics from Seton Hall University in 2015, after which, she spent two years at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Angie Scott

Angie Scott
U.S. Trustee Program Financial Analyst

Angie Scott serves as a Region 1 Financial Analyst for the United States Trustee Program (USTP) and joined the Program in 2020. She is responsible for performing the financial analysis and investigative work for Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Prior to her tenure with the USTP, she was the acting Director for the Office of Strategic Planning and Management at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington D.C. Prior to this position she worked as a policy writer and analyst. She began her career in civil service with local government, as a Las Vegas city planner. Mrs. Scott is a “double Jumbo” and has both her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and her master’s degree in urban and environmental policy and planning from Tufts University.

Tara Twomey

Tara Twomey
U.S. Trustee Program Director

Tara Twomey was appointed Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees (EOUST) on February 27, 2023. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Twomey was the Executive Director of the National Consumer Bankruptcy Rights Center and Of Counsel to the National Consumer Law Center. She is a former Clinical Instructor and Fellow at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School and has been a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and Boston College Law School. From 2021 to 2023, Ms. Twomey served on the Judicial Conference’s Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules and, in 2021, became a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.

Ms. Twomey earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School, summa cum laude, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. After law school, she served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Herbert P. Wilkins of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
