Serbia: ICITAP to Expand Physical Capacity to Criminal Police University

On May 26, the ICITAP-Serbia mission reported that it is moving forward, in cooperation with the Criminal Police University in Zemun, to implement a renovation project for this law enforcement educational institution. The renovation pertains to existing classrooms located on the first floor of the University academic wing to include amphitheater, two classrooms (crime analysis and crime investigations), administrative rooms (five offices), conference room, sanitary facilities with two toilets, corridor, and a hall with the central staircase. They will be equipped with the functional furniture and teaching aid. The renovation works will commence on June 1 and will be followed by regular meetings among the partners involved, primarily ICITAP, the MOI and the University, to monitor and report on the progress. The renovation is the first of a three-phase project. The second phase is planned for Fall 2020 and will equip the University with information system equipment to establish a virtual library. For phase three, ICITAP is working on locating a strategic partner (i.e. a college-level law enforcement education entity in the United States) to provide the latest U.S. subject matter expertise and facilitate cooperation between students and experts from the two countries. The project is supported and funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
