Panama: ICITAP Facilitates Virtual Training on Ethics for Public Officials

On June 12, ICITAP facilitated the delivery of an on-line course on ethics by a public servant as codified in Panamanian law. The course titled “Training on the Code of Ethics for Public Officials - Law 083” was attended by 33 Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit members and delivered by ICITAP CA-trained instructors from Criminalistica en Campo (CSI Section), National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Science (IMELCF).  Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Panama, the course was delivered via WebEx and included an exam at the conclusion of the course. ICITAP’s Coordinator for CSI Training acted as a course monitor in partnership with ICITAP’s Strategic Partnerships and Training Unit, which provided technical assistance on WebEx. In Panama, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
