Dominican Republic: ICITAP Delivers New Procedure Manual for Technology Directorate

On May 5, ICITAP delivered (virtually) to the Director General of the Dominican National Police (PND) the new Process and Procedure Manual for the Technology Directorate. This manual seeks to establish the processes and procedures that are carried out in the operations of the PND’s Information and Communications Technology Directorate (TIC).  At the same time, serving as a management tool in the performance of functions to ensure quality service to the institution in technology and innovation. The document brings together consultation guidelines for the permanent orientation of policies and procedures that are implemented by all those responsible for activities related to the management of information technologies within the PND. The manual seeks to establish best practices in Information Technology Process Management and also provides technical assistance to strengthen Organizational Development. In addition to strengthening management and continuous improvement within the National Police, this effort improves effectiveness in crime prevention, improves citizen security and enhances public confidence. The Process and Procedures Manual will assist PND achieve proposed objectives in its quest to fulfill their mission within the framework of a management approach based on international standards and best practices. In the DR, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
