fight against discrimination
November 26, 2001
Dear Attorney General Ashcroft,
I am writing to you because I have been told that unmarried partners of homosexual victims will
not be compensated properly in the wake of the September 11th tragedies.
The deaths on that day were the result of an attack on America and all its citizens - gay and
straight, male and female, black and white, Christian Jewish, Muslim. I urge you to demonstrate
the unity of our society by working to fight any discrimination in the treatment of September
11th victims. All unmarried partners, gay or straight, young and old and their dependents should
be eligible for compensation.
Thank you for listening to the many voices of America.
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
