Comments "The September 11th Victims' Compensation Fund."
Kenneth L. Zwick, Director
Office of Management Progams
U.S. Department of Justice
Lincroft, NJ.
A special agency should be established (simular to the Veterans
Administration) to assure that the funds are distributed fairly and that the
victims are protected financially from now until the youngest dependents have
completed their education,
after this the funds expenses should decrease.
The dependents should have Medical and Dental Insurance coverage available
to them, paid for by the fund.
A social worker should be made available for each victims family to help
with the maze of paper work, and this paper work should be standardized so
that all agencies are using universal type forms.
The victims children should have educational benefits made available for them
until their education is completed at the "Funds" expense.
Income taxes both Federal and State should be eliminated.
Donated money was intended for the victims families and that's where it
should go. Charities and funding institutions should be held to strict
accountability and should be required to publish administration costs to
include executives salaries When computing annual allowances these
figures should not be decreased based on the deceased life insurance, 401K or
IRA.
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
