Dear Director Zwick:
We were alerted tonite through our denomination, United Fellowship of
Metropolitan Community Churches, that compensation is available to families
who lost loved ones in the tragedy of Sept 11.
I am writing to appeal to you to please consider carefully the needs of
those in non-traditional relationships such as same sex unions either as
holy unions, legal civil unions in some states and life partnered people of
the same gender.
Many of these relationships can be confirmed using resources of the
denomination or of the local MCC churches and I am asking you make this
consideration because I know many such relationships that are no less loving
and beneficial to our communities and our nation as the more traditional
ones you might think of.
I appreciate you time and sensitive attention to this matter and do call or
write if I can be of any help to you or direct you to those who will help.
We are behind your efforts to compensate in some small way the undefinable
and unknowable loss of all people since the tragedy.
