Re: Comments on the Department of Justice's Rulemaking Regarding the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001

Dear Mr. Zwick:

The outpouring of support from both public and private organizations to help the victims of the September 11 attacks and their families has been incredible. But these efforts have also underscored the vulnerabilities that gay and lesbian couples face because their relationships are not legally recognized.

Gay and lesbian partners and families have the same love and commitment that other families have and they have experienced the same horrendous grief and loss. Please follow the example of the American Red Cross, Governor Pateki and Mayor Giulliani and do all you can to make federal relief efforts available to gay and lesbian partners and families.

Sincerely,

Individual
Marathon, WI
