RALEIGH COUNTY WOMAN SENTENCED TO PRISON ON OXYCODONE DISTRIBUTION CHARGE

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Chrystal Gale Cadle, 34, of Amigo, Raleigh County, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 27 months in prison by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger for conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.  Cadle admitted that between January 2008 and October 2009, she participated in a conspiracy to sell oxycodone pills in or near Amigo, Raleigh County, West Virginia.  The defendant admitted that during the scheme between $33,000 and $50,000 worth of oxycodone was sold.   

The investigation was conducted by the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.  Assistant United States Attorney John File handled the prosecution. 

This case was prosecuted as part of an ongoing effort led by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia to combat the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office, joined by various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, remain committed to aggressively pursuing and shutting down illegal pill trafficking, eliminating open air drug markets and curtailing the spread of opiate painkillers in communities across the Southern District.
