OHIO MAN SENTENCED TO 120 MONTHS IN PRISON ON CRACK COCAINE CHARGE

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Phillip Edward Craig, 29, of Toledo, OH, was sentenced today to 120 months in prison by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.  Craig previously pleaded guilty in January.  On July 13, 2011, agents from the Huntington Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence located on 4th Avenue in Huntington.  During the search, law enforcement agents discovered a small amount of marijuana, digital scales and approximately 5.6 grams of heroin.  Additionally, agents found approximately 27 grams of crack cocaine, 120 30-milligram oxycodone pills and $2792 located inside of a tackle box in the defendant’s bedroom.  Craig admitted that he possessed the controlled substances with the intention of distributing them to other people.

The Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force conducted the investigation.  Assistant United States Attorney Gregory McVey handled the prosecution.
