HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Steven T. Hester, 20, of Ashland, Kentucky, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers to 33 months in prison for distribution of five or more grams of cocaine base. Hester previously pleaded guilty in February 2010, admitting to the Federal drug charge. The conviction stems from a joint investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the River Cities Gun Crimes Task Force. In April 2009, Hester distributed 10.1 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover agent. The investigation revealed that Hester was part of a larger organization responsible for distributing crack cocaine and heroin in the Huntington area from October 2008 through June 2009. Special Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams is handling the prosecution.

This case is being brought as part of Weed & Seed. In 1991, the Department of Justice established Weed & Seed which is administered by the Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO).
