RALEIGH COUNTY MAN SENTENCED ON FEDERAL OXYCODONE CHARGE
Kenneth Ray Cline, 57, of Amigo, Raleigh County, West Virginia, was sentenced today to two years probation by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger for aiding and abetting the distribution of oxycodone. The first six months of the defendant’s sentence will be served on home confinement. Cline previously pleaded guilty in February. Cline admitted that on September 10, 2009, he supplied two oxycodone pills to assist an associate in completing a transaction with an individual cooperating with the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
This case was prosecuted as part of an ongoing effort led by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia to combat the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, joined by various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, remain committed to aggressively pursuing and shutting down illegal pill trafficking, eliminating open air drug markets and curtailing the spread of opiate painkillers in communities across the Southern District.
This case was investigated by the Metro Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT). Assistant United States Attorney John File handled the prosecution.
