LOGAN COUNTY WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL DRUG CHARGE
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Lana Sue White, 46, of Omar, Logan County, West Virginia, pleaded guilty today in federal court before United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr. to maintaining a residence for the distribution of crack cocaine. White admitted that between July 28, 2011 and August 5, 2011, she permitted several known individuals to use her Logan County residence for the purpose of distributing crack cocaine. White further admitted that between August 3 and August 5, 2011, she allowed known individuals to stay at her residence in order to maintain a drug distribution scheme. On August 5, 2011, a search warrant was executed by the U.S. 119 Drug Task Force at the defendant’s Omar residence. At the time the search warrant was executed, law enforcement found known individuals in possession of quantities of approximately 100 grams of crack cocaine and more than $8,000 cash. Included among the currency seized by law enforcement was three-hundred dollars in pre-recorded money that was used in previous controlled drug buys.
White faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced on April 18, 2012.
The U.S. 119 Drug Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney William King is in charge of the prosecution.
