HUNTINGTON MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SELLING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Timothy Nathan Todd, 41, of Huntington, pleaded guilty today in federal court before United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers to selling government property. Todd admitted that on October 28, 2011, he sold a law enforcement badge to an informant working for the Huntington Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (ATF) Task Force. The defendant further admitted that prior to selling the badge, he knew that it had been stolen from the vehicle of an ATF agent in Huntington.
Todd faces up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced on April 16, 2012.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Hanks is in charge of the prosecution.
