MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ILLEGALLY ENTERING THE UNITED STATES FOLLOWING DEPORTATION
CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Emir Fernando Bueso-Moreno, 21, of Honduras, pleaded guilty today before United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston to illegally reentering the United States. Following his guilty plea, Bueso-Moreno was immediately sentenced by the Court to credit for time served and was handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to commence deportation proceedings. Bueso-Moreno has been in custody since November 21, 2011.
On or about April 7, 2008, defendant Bueso-Moreno was apprehended at or near Brownsville, Texas and removed from the United States by Court Order. On November 21, 2011, Bueso-Moreno was found residing in the United States. Bueso-Moreno was applying for a work certificate with the West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health and Safety when he presented a suspicious document. ICE agents were contacted and the investigation revealed Bueso-Moreno’s prior removal from the U.S. Bueso-Moreno admitted to being in the United States illegally and after a prior removal. Also, he had not obtained permission to reapply for admission to the United States.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Erik S. Goes handled the prosecution.
