LOGAN MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON ON FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – James E. Hall, 53, of Logan, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 25 months in prison by United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston for distribution of hydrocodone and marijuana. Hall pleaded guilty in March to the charges. The defendant admitted that on June 17, 2009, he sold approximately 16 7.5-milligram hydrocodone pills to a confidential informant in exchange for $100 cash, at his Logan County residence. Hall also admitted that on June 22, 2009, he sold 17 7.5-milligram hydrocodone pills to an informant in exchange for $100 cash. The defendant also sold one ounce of marijuana to an informant in exchange for $125 cash that same day. Hall further admitted that on four occasions between July 2009 and August 2010, he sold a total of 23 7.5-milligram hydrocodone pills in exchange for $133 and a total of eight ounces of marijuana in exchange for $960 to an informant. All of the drug transactions took place at the defendant’s Logan County residence.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, West Virginia State Police and the US 119 Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney William King handled the prosecution.
