Buckhannnon Resident Enters Plea to
Stolen Firearms Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 46-year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on March 26, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JAMES CHEWNING entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of a stolen firearm in the Spring of 2010 in Upshur County, West Virginia. CHEWNING, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
