Pennsylvania Resident Sentenced on Cocaine Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 58 year old Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, resident was sentenced on July 23, 2012, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that: WILLIAM ZIPF was sentenced to 37 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. ZIPF entered a plea of guilty on March 20, 2012, to one count of Attempt to Possess with Intent to Distribute More than 500 grams of Cocaine on March 10, 2010, in Wheeling, West Virginia. ZIPF was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. As part of his plea, ZIPF forfeited $124,600 and a pair of diamond earrings.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr and was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Hancock-Weirton Drug Task Force, and the Findley, Pennsylvania, Township Police Department, with the cooperation of the Wheeling Island Casino Security.
