Seven Individuals Sentenced in Federal Court

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA - Seven individuals were sentenced this week in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

Sentencings on July 24, 2012

LAWRENCE AMBROSE ROWE, age 31, of Moorefield, was sentenced to 121 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. ROWE entered a plea of guilty on May 7, 2012, to Conspiracy to Manufacture, Possess with Intent to Distribute and Distribute Methamphetamine from the Summer of 2011 to December 1, 2011, in the Northern District of West Virginia. ROWE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to Federal institution.

JOSHUA SPERLING, age 34, of Moorefield West Virginia, was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. SPERLING entered a plea of guilty on April 24, 2012 to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on December 1, 2011, in Grant County, West Virginia. SPERLING, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

These cases were investigated by the United States Forest Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the West Virginia State Police and the Petersburg Police Dept.

RICHARD JASON BROWN, age 38, of Rock Cave, West Virginia, was sentenced to 37 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. BROWN entered a plea of guilty on May 15, 2012, to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on September 18, 2011, in Upshur County. BROWN, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

The case was investigated by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police.

These cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner.

Sentencings on July 25, 2012

CHRISTINA JANE LEVIN, age 25, of Augusta, West Virginia, was sentenced to 34 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. LEVIN entered a plea of guilty on May 7, 2012, to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on December 1, 2011, in Grant County, West Virginia. LEVIN, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

CONSUELO BOSLEY, age 41, of Tract, West Virginia, was sentenced 33 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. BOSLEY entered a plea of guilty on May 11, 2012, to Possession of Pseudoephedrine to be Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on April 24, 2011, in Petersburg, West Virginia. BOSLEY, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

These cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and investigated by the United States Forest Service, Homeland Security Investigations, West Virginia State Police, Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Department and the Petersburg Police Department

JAMES CHEWNING, age 46, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. CHEWNING entered a plea of guilty on March 26, 2012, to Possession of a Stolen Firearm in the Spring of 2010 in Upshur County, West Virginia. CHEWNING was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

JORDAN MICHAEL DUNLAP, age 28, of Cowen, West Virginia, was sentenced to 37 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. DUNLAP entered a plea of guilty on March 1, 2012, to Possession of Stolen Firearms on September 30, 2011, in Cowen, West Virginia. DUNLAP was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn A. Morgan and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
