Three Individuals Were Sentenced
During the Month of December
for Federal Supervised Release and Probation Violations

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced the recent sentencings of three individuals after their supervised release or probation was revoked for various violations.

The specific information is as follows:

CASEY DAWN THACKER, age 35, of Hepzibah, West Virginia, was sentenced by Judge Irene M. Keeley to 15 months imprisonment for being charged with possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, not participating in drug treatment and not notifying probation of contact with law enforcement. THACKER was originally sentenced in 2008 to 3 years probation for aiding and abetting in the distribution of crack cocaine; however, her probation was revoked in 2009 for violations of her probation and she was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. THACKER will self-report to the designated Federal facility on January 9, 2012. The United States Attorney’s Office was represented at the hearing by Assistant United States Attorney Brandon S. Flower.

FOREST WESLEY NUZUM, II, age 22, of Wheeling, West Virginia, was sentenced by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr. to 4 months imprisonment for failing to file monthly reports with his probation officer and failing to notify probation officer of his change of address. NUZUM was originally sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be followed by two years of supervised release for possession of a stolen firearm. NUZUM is in federal custody. The United States Attorney’s Office was represented at the hearing by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri.

CHRISTOPHER HAWK, age 33, of Luzern Township, Pennsylvania, was sentenced by Judge Irene M. Keeley to 3 months imprisonment for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. HAWK was initially sentenced to 3 years probation for providing contraband to inmates while working as a correctional officer at USP Hazelton. HAWK is in federal custody. The United States Attorney’s Office was represented at the hearing by Assistant United States Brandon S. Flower.

The United States Probation Office carries out probation and pretrial services functions throughout the Northern District of West Virginia. With locations in Wheeling, Clarksburg, Martinsburg, and Elkins, the office works to assist the federal courts in the fair administration of justice, to protect the community, and to bring about long-term positive change in individuals under supervision.
