Former Morgantown Resident Enters Plea to
Failure to Update Registration
Under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 48 year old former Morgantown, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on February 8, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: ROBERT DALE RHODES entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with failure to update registration as a sex offender from March of 2011 to October of 2011, in Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. RHODES was a person required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act knowingly failed to register and update his sex offender registration. RHODES, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
