Inwood Resident Enters Plea in Federal Court

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 35 year old Inwood, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on April 18, 2012, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: MICHAEL HUNTER NORRIS entered a plea of guilty to one count of failure to register as a sex offender. NORRIS was required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act as a result of his 2005 conviction for lewd and lascivious battery on a minor in St. John’s County Court, Florida. NORRIS, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber and was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
