Fairmont Resident Enters Plea to Crack Cocaine Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 23 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on April 18, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JERMAINE CLAY entered a plea of guilty to one count of distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the 5th Street Gym in Marion County on July 30, 2011. CLAY, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 1 to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Fairmont and Monongah Police Departments.
