Two Eastern Panhandle Residents Enter
Guilty Pleas to Drug Charges

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two Eastern Panhandle residents entered guilty pleas on September 27, 2011, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

JOSEPH GARFIELD CREAMER, age 55, of Martinsburg, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of cocaine base on July 31, 2008, in Martinsburg. CREAMER, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000. The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

THOMAS POWELL DOVE, age 32, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to a one-count Information charging him with possession with intent to distribute heroin on August 2, 2010, in Martinsburg. DOVE, who is currently in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000. The case was investigated by uniformed officers of the West Virginia State Police and the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow.
