Former Pennsylvania Resident Sentenced for
Ecstasy Distribution in Morgantown

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 24 year old former Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on May 27, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that NATHAN J. HADDAD was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release. HADDAD entered a plea of guilty on February 2, 2011, to one count of distribution of MDMA within 1,000 feet of the West Virginia University Colosseum on April 28, 2010, in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Three Rivers Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Monongah Police Department, received information that HADDAD, who was then a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and who formerly lived in Fairmont, West Virginia, while a college student, was involved in distributing drugs with prior associates who still lived in the Fairmont area. The Task Force made three undercover purchases of MDMA from HADDAD, until his arrest on April 28, 2010. As part of his plea, HADDAD admitted to selling 60 grams of MDMA and agreed to the forfeiture of his 2001 Silver Toyota Corolla, which he drove to each drug sale.

HADDAD, who is on bond, will self-report to the designated federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr.
